Civil and Criminal Appeals in State and Federal Court

The goal of most criminal appeals is to reverse a conviction and get a new trial. I have been fortunate to not only win a new trial for a client, but to win the retrial with trial counsel and watch our client walk out of the courthouse with his family.

Reversals are difficult to achieve, however, because appellate courts only reverse a small percentage of all criminal convictions. Reversing a criminal conviction requires a careful and thorough review of the record, extensive research, intelligent issue selection and framing and a clear, concise presentation of the facts and the law to the appellate court.

I have over a 15 years of experience handling a wide-range of criminal appeals. I have appealed convictions of numerous crimes including driving under the influence, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, and first degree murder.
